XXIV Old Buildings is pleased to sponsor the dinner on Thursday 21 March 2024 at the 7th annual Trusts in Litigation conference hosted by ConTrA and Informa Connect. The conference themes for 2024 include, Litigation tactics, Capacity, Offshore vs onshore and Issues for trustees.

The conference is taking place from Wednesday 20 March to Friday 22 March at the Budapest Marriott Hotel, Hungary. Elspeth Talbot Rice KC, Timothy Sherwin and James Fennemore will join panel discussions on Day 2 (Friday 22 March). 

Timothy will discuss ‘Court intervention: shortcut or scenic route?’, the session will cover: When is a departure from the non-intervention principle justified? What is ‘non-binding guidance’? and How far can or should the courts go to assist trustees and beneficiaries?. It will take place on 21 March from 10.30 – 11.30 CET. His fellow panellists are Erin Trimble-Cregreen, Counsel at Appleby and Elaine Palser, Barrister at Outer Temple Chambers.

On 22 March, James will join a panel to discuss ‘The (undue?) prominence of undue influence in dispositions of property and the administration of trusts’  from 10.35 – 11.35 CET. He will be joined on the panel by Joe Kelley, Partner Womble Bond Dickinson and Katie Hooper, Partner Mourant. 

Elspeth’s panel will discuss ‘How to win the unwinnable’ from 12.40 – 13.20 CET. Her panel will comprise Mark Lindley, Partner Boodle Hatfield, Mayus Karia, Solicitor-Advocate, LLP solicitors and James Sheedy, Partner, Collas Crill.
