James was appointed Senior Practice Manager in 2017 and is responsible for managing and promoting the practices of our Junior barristers, including management of diaries, fee negotiation and maintaining and developing client relationships, both in the UK and offshore.

The Legal 500 says James “offers a first class problem solving service”. Another source notes that he “will respond quickly…and will do all he can to accommodate requests” and that he has “wonderful client service skills. He’s keen to build relationships with solicitors and works hand in hand with his barristers to ensure everything runs smoothly.”

James is described in Chambers & Partners as “really efficient”, “fantastic and very responsive”.

James is a member of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks and in 2018 was appointed one of Chambers’ ‘Pro Bono Champions’, as part of an initiative to encourage barristers to take on not-for-profit work.
