Qatar Airways Group v Airbus
High Court, Technology and Construction Court, 1 June, estimated 10 weeks
As quoted in The Lawyer: “The mammoth dispute between Qatar Airways and European aircraft manufacturer Airbus is set for its legal battle this year. The airline has brought the claim against Airbus over the alleged defective design and manufacture of A350 aircraft. Back in November 2020, in the lead-up to the FIFA World Cup, one of Qatar Airways’ A350 aircraft was being prepared for repainting. During this process, it was discovered it had developed premature and accelerated degradation on parts of the surface of its airframe.”
