Steven Thompson QC witnesses signing of Bar Council training scheme agreement with China

Steven Thompson QC, a member of the China Interest Group, and a Vice-Chair of the International Committee of the Bar Council, was invited to witness the formal signing on Wednesday 23 September of the new Memorandum of Understanding between the Bar Council and CIETAC, the main Chinese arbitration institution.

The two bodies have agreed to cooperate on the Bar Council’s Training Scheme for Chinese lawyers (BCTS), and CIETAC plans to offer participants a pre-course in Beijing on international arbitration, to which English barristers will contribute.
