Royal Bank of Scotland International Limited Found Liable for Dishonest Assistance

The Gibraltar arm of RBSI has been found liable for dishonestly assisting a firm of Gibraltar lawyers, Marrache & Co., to steal money from the firm’s client account.  Jack J. found that the bank’s relationship manager had actual knowledge that client monies were being misused but nonetheless allowed the practice to continue. Stephen Moverley Smith QC, leading Charles Simpson of Triay & Triay (a member of the Gibraltar Bar), acted for the successful claimants.
