Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts’ new Arbitration Working Group

The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts has launched a new Arbitration Working Group, the first court in the region to introduce such an initiative. Michael Black QC and Tom Montagu-Smith QC have been appointed to the panel of experts, who will be tasked with reinforcing and sharing developments and best-practices and encompasses an advisory team of arbitration professionals, bodies, centres, educational institutions, and industry-related organisations. Civil Procedure Rule Committee

The Lord Chancellor has appointed Tom Montagu-Smith QC as a legally qualified member to the Civil Procedure Rule Committee (CPRC) for 3 years commencing 1 October 2020.

CPRC is a non-departmental public body. It was established to make rules of court for the Civil Division of the Court of Appeal, the High Court and the County Court. Further details can be found here.
