XXIV sponsors 25th anniversary of the Bar Council’s Training Scheme for Chinese Lawyers

July 6, 2015

XXIV Old Buildings are proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the 25th anniversary of the Bar Council’s Training Scheme for Chinese Lawyers (formerly the Lord Chancellor’s Training Scheme). Dozens of alumni are coming from China to take part in a series of events later this month, including a seminar and a formal reception, meeting up with barristers and VIPs who have been involved in the Scheme for the last quarter century.

XXIV Old Buildings has been hosting Chinese lawyers on the Scheme for over a decade, supporting the astonishing growth in size and importance of the legal profession in China. Over 300 Chinese lawyers have come to England to learn more about the English legal system and the unique role which the Bar plays; many more barristers have gained an insight into the Chinese legal system as a result.

XXIV Old Buildings makes regular trips to China to give talks and stay connected with the lawyers it has hosted over the years. Steven Thompson QC, Vice-Chair of the International Committee of the Bar Council will be chairing one of the panels at the seminar.
