The Lawyer has published its Top 10 appeals for 2025, identifying its selection of the most significant cases to be heard in the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court this year.
The list includes the Supreme Court appeal of Mitchell and another (Joint Liquidators of MBI International & Partners Inc (In Liquidation)) v Sheikh Mohamed Bin Issa Al Jaber and others, a case concerning the proper approach to the quantification of equitable compensation following the misapplication of company assets, and the circumstances in which a former director may be liable for steps taken in respect of company assets after the company has been put into insolvent liquidation.
